Dear Sir or Madam,
"The International Peace Film Festival" (First Edition: 6-17 December 2003) is a competitive festival planned for the first time in India-Mumbai as a main venue. It will be organized under the auspices and sponsorship of "World Film Promotion", "World Peace Association" (non-profit organization) and the worldwide skilled, specialized & expert management committee of the "International Peace Film Festival".
Created, founded and funded by the versatile, multilingual and multicultural Indian festival managing director Mr.Prakash Sharma. He is fluent in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese and Russian including several Indian languages. Besides these, he has over 14 years of expertise in the global film industry, officially invited to many international film festivals throughout the world with several years of working experience as an international peace activist, consultant and specialist. He is active, dynamic and enthusiastic lived in many countries of the world. Moreover, NGO representative at United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, at UN in Vienna-Austria and at UN in New York.
We are inviting global NGOs working for world peace, world leaders, spiritual and religious organizations. It will be a private festival in possible collaboration with the government of India or state government, Indian Film industry, foreign film festival authorities and global committee. Our supporters, sponsors and organizers are national & international peace NGOs, global foundations, civil societies, institutions, universities & other organizations including corporate structure, Banks, TV channels, world film societies, associations & clubs.
International & national press, global media & entertainment industry, buyers, distributors, theater owners, producers, actors, directors, and writers, various governments, cultural and private sector enterprises such as World Peace Association, Bollywoods Emperor, and World Peace Embassy etc. would actively take part in the event. The festival is under the process of getting support, making publicity and promotion, and selecting films by participating in many international events, film festivals and film markets.
At the same time under the title "World Peace Forum" international peace conferences, forums, seminars, discussions, press conferences would be organize by "World Peace Association" in which several world organizations, institutions, non-governmental organizations, and associations working for the global peace, disarmaments, peace education including human rights and various socio-political organizations would actively take part. We are likely to get the support, recognition and collaboration from United Nations, UNESCO and its institutions.
Those long features, short and documentaries films reflecting internal-external peace, human, social, international problems & conflicts would be given preferences. They may deal with globalisation, current issues and any other subjects covered by United Nations and its institutions (UNDP, ECOSOC, UNHCR, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNV etc.) topics such as human rights, environmental, children and women's issues, social, international political and refugee problems, and human educational subjects.
Special focus on retrospectives of 3 to 4 countries, commercial & comedy film section and women films. Besides these, there will be competitive non-competitive sections including the premiers of the films not yet shown anywhere. Group discussions, press conferences, seminars, forums, and meetings would follow screening with experts on the given subjects. Moreover, we are also trying to organize concerts at various stadiums for which we try to get the musicians and popular singers from all over the world. Short term training program, crash courses and series of conferences will be offered to those who are interested.
We are forming the committee members, which consist of experienced people from the global film industry and leading peace NGOs, associations, organizations, institutions and universities. Moreover, we are inviting the international specialists in order to organize and to give the shape and structure to promote this festival as well as we are appointing its representatives throughout the world. We are creating our multilingual website and as soon as its ready we will inform you about it. We request you to circulate this letter to important personals, ministers, special interest groups etc. Any suggestions, advises and practical ideas for the realization of this project to make it memorable would be appreciated.
